NEED HELP COVERING THE COST OF ADOPTION?

Adoption is a meaningful journey-but it can also be a costly one. At HOAA we’re committed to helping you understand your options and find the financial resources you need to make adoption possible for your family.

From federal tax credits to grants and creative fundraising ideas, there are multiple ways to make adoption more affordable. Below, you’ll find an overview of the most commonly used resources by adoptive families.

Popular Grant Organizations Include:

HOAA offers periodic grants based on funding cycles and availability. Check our social media platforms for grant announcements, criterion, and deadlines, or contact us today to inquire.  Our goal is providing free services to families willing to open their homes to waiting children.

Employer Adoption Benefits

Many companies offer adoption assistance programs that include reimbursement for adoption-related expenses or paid leave for adoptive parents. Check with your HR department to find out if your employer provides:

House Bill 1083 enables qualifying state employees to receive a lump sum monetary benefit of $25,000 per child if adopting a difficult-to-place child. Eligible employees include State agency employees, veterans, service members, law enforcement officers, tax collector employees, and health care practitioners.

Fundraising and Community SUPPORT

Fundraising can be an empowering way to involve your community in your adoption journey. Many families successfully raise thousands of dollars by combining several methods, such as:

Fundraising not only raises money but also helps build a support system around your future child.
